As the name suggests, this UKCAT section has MCQs based on text passages. Each reading passage is followed by four statements. Each statement has three options following it: True, False, Can’t tell. Read the statement and find out if it logically follows the passage or not. Choose the correct option accordingly.
Are you numerically challenged? Well this UKCAT Section will surely make you find out. Most questions consist of a graph, table or chart, a short paragraph and a set of MCQs on it. Each MCQ has five options. The questions test reasoning using numbers rather than math skills. You can use the online calculator available for this section.
This is a diagram based aptitude test. There will be two sets of diagrams: Set A and Set B. Diagrams in Set A share a common feature. Diagrams in Set B too share a common feature. But the two sets have nothing in common. Each pair of Set A and Set B is followed by 5 test shapes. You have to tell if the test shape belongs to Set A or Set B or none of the two. The key lies in identifying the possible patterns in each set.
A situation is presented in the form of a text passage, table or graph followed by a set of codes that you need to break. The key to deciphering codes: note the words represented by the numbers or letters in brackets. Numbers that appear side by side imply a close relationship. A space implies they aren’t closely related. A letter outside the brackets will apply to everything inside the brackets. Try to simplify the code into a simple sentence. Mere logical deduction is not enough to crack these codes. This UKCAT section is to stimulate decision making.
This section is the UKCAT version of a personality test. What kind of a person are you? Impulsive or restrained? Honest or corrupt? This UKCAT Section tests your personality traits. You will not receive scores for this UKCAT Section, but will be given a brief character assessment.
