Prepgenie UKCAT Sample Test – Abstract Reasoning
Just as doctors read symptoms and trace a pattern in them before diagnosis, you will have to trace a pattern in a set of odd shapes in the UKCAT Abstract Reasoning Subtest. A diagram-based aptitude test, this UKCAT Subtest has two sets of diagrams: Set A and Set B. Set A shapes have a common trait, exclusive to Set A. Shapes in Set B too share a common feature. But the two sets have nothing in common. Each pair of Set A and Set B is followed by 5 test shapes. All you have to do is choose whether the test shape belongs to Set A or Set B or none of the two. The key lies in identifying the possible patterns in each set.
You may be quite comfortable with UKCAT Subtests 1 and 2, having been taught how to analyse text passages and solve numerical problems right from school. But identifying patterns in shapes is a new domain. It requires PRACTISE. Learn the basics and you will breeze through this UKCAT section. Try the Prepgenie UKCAT Sample Test – Abstract Reasoning.
TIP: Most UKCAT examinees find this the easiest section of the UKCAT. Finishing this section fast will give you a significant time advantage.
